Welcome to Tech Camp - June 2009

This summer is the second year that our district offered this program to our 4th and 5th grade students. The students selected this year also participated in the Minority Incentive Program. Second and third grades students who were part of Washington's Gifted Program were also selected to attend Tech Camp. Our goals this year were to give each student an e-mail account and to help them create web logs. Students who were in the program reviewed what they learned last year: creating tables, Powerpoints, and word documents. They in turn helped the newer students. During the second week of camp the students were asked to choose a social issue about which they were concerned. They were to create a "blog" to share their ideas with their fellow students and with their community. We hope you enjoy our blogs and we welcome your comments.
